What is the NICU and what do they do? 

NICU stands for neonatal intensive care unit. At the Alberta Children's Hospital (ACH), the primary focus of the Edwards Family NICU is babies who need surgery, cardiac care, and whose brains are at risk. The NICU consists of a variety of pediatric specialists who provide treatment to high risk newborns as well as researchers who study new and innovative ways to help these high risk babies early on in life and as they age.

How much of my donation is being donated?

Run For Little Ones is a registered Non-Profit Organization (NPO) with the province of Alberta and therefore 100% of the proceeds from the run will be donated to the NICU at the ACH.

When and where is the Run for Little Ones 2024 run? 

This year's run is taking place on Saturday, August 24th 2024 at North Glenmore Park (7305 Crowchild Trail SW) near Lot F. There will be signs from Lot F leading you to the correct start site.

What time is the Run for Little Ones 2024 run? 

The event is starting at 11 am and will end around 1 pm.

How far is the Run for Little Ones 2024 run?

We have 3km and 5km pathway options.

I do not live in Calgary, can I still participate? 

Yes! You can donate directly through our website or participate in our other online fundraising events found on our Instagram (@runforlittleones) and Facebook (Run For Little Ones) pages.

Do I have to run?

 No! However, there will be prizes awarded for the fastest times.

Is there an age restriction? 

No, this is an event that is fun for the entire family and can be done at all ages!

How much does registration cost? 

Payment is not required to participate in the run.

I am not available to participate in the run but I would still like to make a donation. Is this possible?

Absolutely! Donations can be done directly to the foundation at https://my.childrenshospital.ab.ca/fundraiser/5638017. Information on other fundraising events can be found on our Donate page or by following our Instagram (@runforlittleones) and Facebook (Run For Little Ones) pages.

Am I required to register? 

Registration for the run can be done at https://forms.gle/bfV5kn11q4PVjdg96, although registration is not required and everyone is free to drop-in the day of!

Will there be food and water at the run?

Water bottles will be provided at the run-site and hotdogs, freezies, and other drinks can be purchased at the event!

How can I find the Blue Heron Picnic Site?

We will have volunteers stationed around the parking lot to help direct runners to the start location! We will also have balloons directing them at the grounds towards the start site! For more information, please look at our page labelled 'Run Site and Registration'!
